Here is a great, sugary frosting recipe. It goes wonderfully with the sugar cookies, and you can put so many designs on it.
Ingredients:
2/3 cup softened butter
4 cups sifted powdered sugar (icing sugar)
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix all ingredients with an electric mixer until fluffy. Add chosen decoration after frosting the cookie, cupcake, cake, or other baked good. Enjoy!
Tip: at your local baking goods store, they should have frosting bags and nozzles. They can make cool designs.

Who doesn't like homemade cookies? Or should I say, who doesn't like sugar? These are some fantastic cookies, except those who do not like vanilla should put in a bit less, because they are very strong. These are great with a cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup softened butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg (please use free range)
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/2 cups sifted flour (to give it a light texture)
1/4 teaspoons salt

Cream butter and sugar together. Mix in egg and vanilla, then add flour and salt gradually and stir until well mixed. If you want to use a cookie cutter, put it in the fridge for 30 minutes. Otherwise, use a spoon and drop little dollops of dough onto the baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 175 degrees Celsius (347 Fahrenheit) for 10-15 minutes. Once cool, eat plain or add frosting.

I have loved doing crafts, cooking, and writing all my life. Ever since I was a little girl, I have had great joy helping make cookies (though I probably was more of a bother than a help!) and I loved putting my heart into drawings that only I could understand.  That is, until I would run off and do something else! Though I do not know you, and probably never will, I hope with all my heart that you will grow in your joy of creating items with your hands and heart.
